Orthodontics and braces in The Hague
Orthodontics corrects the position of your teeth and how your upper and lower jaws meet. Souhir Aydi completed a master's degree in orthodontics, so you can come to the same practice for both general dentistry and orthodontics.
What does orthodontics involve?
After an initial examination with photos and measurements, we create a treatment plan. Depending on your situation, we choose together between fixed braces, removable braces or clear aligners.
During treatment you visit regularly to have the braces adjusted. Afterwards, a retainer keeps your teeth in their new position.
When do you need orthodontics?
Crooked or overlapping teeth, an overbite or underbite, gaps between teeth or difficulty biting are common reasons. With children, we also look at jaw growth.
Crooked, rotated or overlapping teeth.
Too much or too little space between the teeth.
An overbite, underbite, open bite or crossbite.
Difficulty biting, chewing or keeping your teeth clean.
Teeth that have shifted again after previous braces.
Children from around 8 to 10 years old: an initial assessment is useful at that age.

Which braces suit you?
There is no single best type of braces. Together we choose what suits your teeth, your age and your wishes.
Fixed braces
Brackets on the teeth with a wire. Very precise and suitable for almost any correction.
Removable braces
Mainly for growing children, to guide the jaw or create space.
Aligners
Clear plastic trays you remove yourself. Almost invisible, suitable for milder corrections.
What does orthodontics cost?
Dental fees in the Netherlands are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). You receive an explanation of the costs before any treatment, and a quote for larger treatments. What your health insurer covers depends on your policy.
