Children's dentist in The Hague Benoordenhout

We build a bond with every child so that visiting the dentist feels familiar. We explain everything in a way that suits their age. Healthy teeth work best together: with your child, with you as a parent and with us.

What does children's dentistry involve?

We check the baby teeth and the arrival of permanent teeth, and keep an eye on the position of teeth and jaw. Where needed, we apply fluoride or sealants to prevent cavities.

Children can first get to know the chair and instruments at their own pace. As a parent, you are always welcome in the treatment room.

When do you need children's dentistry?

Feel free to bring your child along to your own check-up from their first teeth. That way they get used to the practice in a playful way.

  • Around the time the first tooth appears, to get acquainted.

  • From age 2 for a short regular check-up.

  • With discoloured spots or cavities in baby teeth.

  • After a fall or blow to the mouth.

  • With thumb sucking or a dummy at a later age.

  • If permanent teeth come through crooked or late.

Healthy teeth from the start

Baby teeth matter: they hold space for the permanent teeth and help with speaking and chewing.

01

Brushing

Twice a day with children's fluoride toothpaste. Parents brush after them until about age 10.

02

Eating and drinking

No more than seven eating and drinking moments a day, with water or milk to quench thirst.

03

Coverage

Dental care for children under 18 is largely covered by basic health insurance.

What does children's dentistry cost?

Dental fees in the Netherlands are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). You receive an explanation of the costs before any treatment, and a quote for larger treatments. What your health insurer covers depends on your policy.
